A Mighty Duck: Bobby Ryan Remains a Duck For $27.5 Million
You won’t be seeing Bobby Ryan in trade rumors anytime soon.
According to Larry Brooks of the New York Post, via Twitter, RFA winger Bobby Ryan has re-signed with the Anaheim ducks for a total of $27.5 million over five years.
It was believed that Ryan wanted a two- or three-year contract and that the money wasn’t the problem. Ducks management had pretty much confirmed that they offered him $5 million per year and that they wanted to give him a five-year contract.
It seems that negotiations went well for both sides, as the Ducks got the length that they wanted and Bobby Ryan is making $500,000 more a year.
Expect Bobby Ryan to really come into his own this season, as 40-plus goals isn’t out of the question
