Canucks Buzz Oct.12, 2010: Vigneault, Rypien, Roberto Luongo
CanucksBuzz Oct.12, 2010
Here are some bits and pieces on the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday:
On Tuesday, Alain Vigneault spoke to the media before the team departs on a two-game road trip to California beginning Wednesday in Anaheim. The Ducks have had a rough start and this game on Wednesday will be the Ducks home opener in front of their very own fans. Canucks played down their opponents’ recent troubles on the tough schedule instead of their lack of skill. The Canucks expect a tough match.
Also, Rick Rypien is nearing clearance to play again on the fourth line. He said he is ready and can’t wait to get ready to play his first game of the season.
The media asked the number one goalie, Roberto Luongo, about his secret to success to open the season in mid-season form. Dominating the opposition with only 2 goals against in 74 shots against in his first two games this season, Roberto Luongo looks like Mr.October. Something new to Roberto as he has had a history of being a slow starter. Not this year. Goaltender Coach Rollie Melanson may have a bit to do with how Luongo prepares for the games and his positioning in tight, in-range situations. Good on Roberto and great for the Canucks.
Thank you for following the Canucks.
