New Winnipeg Jets Logo Finally Unveiled: What Do You Think?

Winnipeg Jets fans have been waiting for this moment for a long while.

The team name Jets was unveiled in high style at the NHL draft at the beginning of the month, and as of 5 p.m. Eastern time Friday, the team had a logo.

True North uploaded the first images of the logo to their website, and they can be viewed here.

According to the website, the image was inspired by the Royal Canadian Air Force.

Mark Chipman, Senior Director, Marketing & Brand Management of True North Sports & Entertainment, was quoted on the website, stating that “…not only were we able to establish a new identity for our brand, but we were able to maintain a traditional, time honoured look to the logo.”

While the team will immediately begin selling new Jets logo gear, fans will have to wait just a bit longer before they know what the team sweaters will look like.  The team decided to hold off in showing those off until a later date.

So let the great debate begin.

There were a lot of fan drawings and the like showing what some thought the logo would look like.  Do you think that this logo is better than those renderings?

And how does it stand up to the old school Jets logo of yesteryear?
