NHL Free Agency: One Player Each Team Must Sign to an Extension This Season

Although the season has just begun, many players and teams are already thinking about the future. As it stands, there are several impact players whose contracts are set to expire come the end of this season.

Those players who are set to become unrestricted free agents will command a lot of money on the open market, while soon to be restricted free agents are hoping to gain a sizable raise and a long-term contract of their own.

If certain teams wait too long to get a deal in place it could spell trouble for the franchise. Many general managers and agents are already engaged in conversations with one another.

As it stands, every team in the NHL has at least one player they would be smart to sign as soon as possible.
